There's Hope in the Valley

Pastor Tim

Pastor Tim Pullin arrived at Lakeview on July 12, 2000 with his wife Karen and son John.

Pastor Tim is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in South Dakota and England, and a 1991 graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN with a B.A. in Religion.  He has served in ministry full-time since January of 1991.  "PT", as he is often called, loves to play (Trumpet, piano, and guitar) write and sing music.  He has served as a music minister for 3 years and as senior pastor for over 16 years.

Here is a greeting from Pastor Tim:

Greetings in the name of our victorious and soon-coming Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

What a joy it is for me to serve the good people of Lakeview Church and Western North Carolina as pastor of this fine congregation!  When we arrived in 2000 I had no idea we would still be serving in the Waynesville area in 2010!  During that time it has been my honor to be present and to represent the Lord at births, dedications, graduations, weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, retirements and home-goings of many of Lakeview's members and extended family!  I have been blessed to be present with her people in tragedy and in triumph; in times of plenty and blessing as well as in lean times, and I have never failed to be amazed at the grace and dignity I have witnessed in the lives of the members and friends of Lakeview.  To have had a front-row seat and be allowed to be present at such life-changing moments is a rare and beautiful privilege.  I wouldn't trade one moment of the time we have spent here for anything!

Shortly after I arrived here God impressed upon me the phrase, "There's Hope in the Valley".  That has become my personal motto and the unofficial motto of Lakeview Church of the Nazarene.  Whether your valley is emotional, financial, relational, or spiritual, when God is in the equation, there is always hope in the valley.

I truly love the people of Lakeview Church and am humbled and honored to be their pastor.  And  I have never failed to sense the hand and voice of God leading me with each visit to a member's home, area hospital, emergency room, nursing home, prison, community event or funeral parlor.  And despite having been on location for nearly a decade, I have never failed to feel that we were still somehow just arriving on the scene.

If you do not currently have a church home and are living in Haywood or Jackson or any of the surrounding counties of western North Carolina, I would encourage you to give Lakeview a chance to love you into the family of God.  Time and again I have heard people comment on how Lakeview is such a loving and accepting group of people.

If you are travelling and enjoying the natural beauty that God invested in this gorgeous part of the world, I encourage you to stop by and worship the Great Creator with us during our regular worship times and special events.  We strive to minister to the entire family at Lakeview.  We are now and always have been a work in progress.

I look forward to growing with you as God enables.  Come to Lakeview and find out what that means for you.  I look forward to worshipping and serving our awesome God with you soon.

In His love,

Tim Pullin
Pastor
